【摘要】:Airpermitsfromregulatoryagenciesoftenrequiremeasurementsofopacityfromstationaryairpollutionpointsourcesintheoutdoorambientenvironment.OpacityhasbeenvisuallymeasuredbycertifiedsmokereadersinaccordancewithUSEPA(USEPAMethod9).DCOTisalsoamethodtodetermineplumeopacityintheoutdoorambientenvironment.TheconceptofDCOTwasbasedonpreviousmethoddevelopmentusingDigitalStillCamerasandfieldtestingofthosemethods.,ThepurposeofthisstandardistosetaminimumlevelofperformanceforproductsthatuseDCOTtodetermineplumeopacityinambientenvironments.1.1Thistestmethoddescribestheprocedurestodeterminetheopacityofaplume.Theaforementionedplumeiscausedbyparticulatematteremittedfromastationarypointsourceintheoutdoorambientenvironmentusingdigitalimageryandassociatedsoftwareandhardware.1.2TheopacityofemissionsisdeterminedbytheapplicationofaDigitalCameraOpacityTechnique(DCOT)thatconsistsofaDigitalStillCamera,AnalysisSoftware,andtheOutputFunctionx2019;scontenttoobtainandinterpretdigitalimagestodetermineandreportplumeopacity.1.3Thismethodissuitabletodeterminetheopacityofplumesfromzero(0)percenttoonehundred(100)percent.1.4Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletostackswithinternaldiametersgreaterthan7.0ft.1.5Conditionsthatshallbeconsideredwhenusingthismethodtoobtainthedigitalimageoftheplumeincludetheplumex2019;sbackground,theexistenceofcondensedwaterintheplume,orientationoftheDigitalStillCameratotheplumeandthesun(seeSection8).1.6ThisstandarddescribestheprocedurestocertifytheDCOT,hardware,software,andmethodtodeterminetheopacityoftheplumes.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
